Super 8's Qualification

July 08, 2019

After the excitement and thrilling matches over the past 3 weekends in the qualifiers the Mayo Senior Football team now turn their attention to the Super 8 phase of the All-Ireland Championship. In a group, containing Kerry, Meath and Donegal the action kicks off with a cracking fixture in Killarney next Sunday at 4pm.

Speaking ahead of next weekend James Horan said “This Mayo team are enjoying the challenge of weekly games and are taking it one step at a time.

We have used 27 players over the last 3 weekends with a real mix of youth and experience. The new players are still developing and learning and they need the time and space to get to grips with top-level football.

As a group, we want to say a big thanks to the Mayo supporters for the many miles they travelled over the past few weeks with this team and for their understanding of the time players need to develop and realise their potential.“

We all now look forward again to the weekend where Mayo’s positive approach and attacking game will be on display.
