Sean and Helen Scoops the Top Prize

Sean and Helen Keane Carrowcloughy Won the top prize of €10,000 in the Mayo GAA Club Development draw which took place in Cill Chomain GAA Club on Saturday week. P. C. and Una Judge Killocraun Won €500 and   John Gardiner Church St Crossmolina, Tommy and Bernie Dolan Enniscoe, Sean and Catherine Syron Chapel Rd Crossmolina, Martin and Olivia Donohoe Fotish Crossmolina each won €200. Congratulation to all our Winners  

 

Young Deel Rovers on Mayo Development squads;

Last weekend (13th / 14th August 2022) was a busy one for the young Deel Rovers who represented Mayo on development squads. 

First up, Ethan Reilly and George Gordetskyy, who played with the U14 development squad in the Sean Purcell U14 tournament in the COE, they had good wins over Longford and Kildare.

Next up; Mayo U15 development squads, Dylan Flynn was with squad one, who defeated Tyrone in the final of the Brian McClernon Cup, Josh Moyles (Captain), Kobe McDonald, Sean Óg McGuinness, Óisín Deane and Darragh Duffy (injured) were part of Mayo squad two, who defeated Derry in Brian McClernon Trophy.

Finally; On the Mayo U16 development squad who lost out narrowly to Kerry in the Ted Webb final, we had Aaron Coggins representing the Deel Rovers.

 

Well done to all the lads, and their proud families and many friends who support them.

Homeland U15A Championship Group 1 2022

(Round: Round 1), Aghamore 1-12 Crossmolina Deel Rovers 1-12

Aghamore had the greater share of the play in the first half of this U15 Championship tie in Aghamore on Tuesday last after rattling in a goal after three minutes from David Delaney and quickly tacked on points from Derry Og Cox. Kobe McDonald  replied with a point in the 12th minute for the visitors  further points from Derry Og Cox and Ian Murray extended the lead out to eight points  before a Kobe McDonald goal and two  points in the last six minutes of the half to leave the  score at the break 1 – 6 to 1 – 3. Oisin Deane and Derry Og Cox swopped points before Luke Williams and Simon Byrne exchanged goals and Derry Og Cox raised a third green Flag for the East Mayo boys before a six points scoring spree from the Deel-Siders Ethan Reilly Sean Heffernan Dylan Flynn Josh Moyles one each and two from Joey Keane to tie the score. After game both sides missed many scoring chances and Crossmolina’s goalkeeper Gorgie Gordetskyy was called on to make at least three goal bound saves over the hour.

Balla were in control from the start of this county U17 Championship with two goals inside the opening seven minutes from Oisin Cronin and Liam Glynn they followed this up this with a string of points from Conor Nolan Oisin Cronin Luke Flaherty and James Nolan Crossmolina’s Jack Naughton replied with three points. The visitors had the assistance of the breeze in the second half but could only muster four points from Billy Loftus Diarmaid Fox James O’Boyle and James Maheady. Balla’s Oisin Cronin tacked on two points and Liam Glynn one to run out comfortable winners.

Castlebar Mitchels were in command from the start of this County U19 County Semi-final at Tiernans Park on Tuesday of last week With Eoin Hughes scoring 1 – 4 of the Halftime score of 1 – 7 Sam Morohan Jack Daly and Ben McHale getting points each Eoin Murphy and Diarmaid Walsh replying with points each for the home side. The visitors continued their scoring rate but Crossmolina kept plugging away with two goals from Jack Naughton and one from a penalty from Dara Syron gave the score board a healthier look.
