Our U10s had two teams taking part in the Mayo Clubs blitz at the Connacht GAA COE last Saturday.

U16s win North Mayo U16A Final

Well done to our U16 who defeated Ardnaree in the 2023 North Mayo U16A final last Tuesday evening in Ballina. This completed a two in a row, and only the eight time in the history of Crossmolina GAA.

Adult team win Intermediate Sweeney Cup 2023

Our adult team won the Sweeney Cup final by defeating Ardnaree. Well done to all involved.

Crossmolina captured the Homeland U14 Division 2 League final at a sunny Bonniconlon on Monday of last week. Oisin Sweeney and Aidan Brogan opened the south mayo sides account with points each which Farnan Munnelly and Conor Howley quickly replied too. Aidan Brogan drove over two points which the Deel-Siders  Dylan Lavelle Dylan Keane and Farnan Munnelly  restored the their lead then  Luke Loftus brought off a wonderful save  from Daniel O’Keefe at the expense  of a point Three Dylan Lavelle points  gave  Crossmolina boys breathing space after a Aidan Brogan Point to which left the score at the break 0 – 8 to 0 – 6. A Hugh Lenihan goal two minuets into the new half was quickly wiped by a Dylan Lavelle Goal and a point Ruairi McGuinness increased the lead with a point  Crossmolina Goalkeeper Luke Loftus pulled off another great save from Hugh Lenihan before Dylan Lavelle banged in his second goal in the 21st minuet Anthony Diskin and Aidan Brogan saw  the Claremorris boys reduce the lead before Dylan Keane stole in along the end line to bury the ball in the net for the insurance score and a deserved win for the North mayo side. Crossmolina got their Division 2A league campaign off to a winning start with a two points away win to Ballyhaunis on Saturday week Eamon Phillips and Keith Higgins pointed before James Maheady Kevin Mulhern replied with points in between Patrick Kiely  pointed and two points  from Eamon Phillips and one from Daniel Murray were cancelled out with an opportunist goal after twenty minutes  from David Howley who also tacked on a point minutes later Eamon Phillips and James Maheady exchanged points to leave the sides level at the break  1 – 5 to 0 – 8 Eamon Phillips was the scorer-in- chief for the hosts with four points in the second half  James Maheady and Kevin Mulhern pointe before The Coggins brothers Niall and Diarmuid and Diarmaid Walsh created the opportunity for James Maheady finish to the net and Robert Murphy tacked on a point to seal the win

Crossmolina over came a very stiff challenge from Ballinrobe in this County U16 League tie in Tiernan’s Park on Thursday last the visitors played with the aid of a stiffish breeze but it was  Kobe McDonald Liam Clancy Luke Maloney Luke Williams and Oisin Deane were on the score board for the Deel-Siders  with a string of points for Ballinrobe  Rory Kilrane Aaron Crowley raised whit flags and Jack Philbin grabbed their goal to give them a 1 – 5 to 0 – 7 advantage at the break Oisin Deane Ethan Reilly and Luke Williams pointed before Jack Philbin replied with a point and minuets later Sequoyah Duffy to restore the South Mayo sides advantage with a goal Caelan Tansey with two points and which were cancelled out with like scores from Liam Clancy and Luke Maloney. A 1 – 3 scoring bust from Kobe McDonald  gave the Crossmolina boys the advantage again Ballinrobe’s reply was points from Rory Kilrane and Barry Og Langan Liam Clancy was on hand to blast the ball to net in stoppage time to give his side a six point’s winning margin after a fine open game on a cold may evening. Ballinrobe over came the hosts Crossmolina by two points  in the first  round 1 of  Michael Walsh league Thanks to Cian O’Connell and Kevin Quinn points with the former accounting for five to leave the South Mayo men 0 – 7 to 1 – 2 up at the break. James Maheady scoring the goal Fionan Duffy and Cathal Carolan pointing. A Gillan Jennings in the 39th Minuet kept the Ballinrobe in the driving seat despite the Best Efforts of James Maheady Fionan Duffy and Jack Naughton scoring seven points Cian O’Connell Kevin Quinn and J.E. Flannery replying with like scores in a very entertaining match over all

Crossmolina got off to a great start in this U16  league tie at Tiernans park with a goal and a point from Oisin Deane inside the opening five minutes Cillian Gallagher David Lally Replied with each before Oisin Deane fisted a ball  to the net that bobbled round the square from a Ethan Reilly shot in the 19th minute in the last ten minutes of the half the scores came thick and fast Kobe McDonald drove over two points and quickly raised his sides third green flag and Ethan Reilly scored a neat point. Claremorris finished with points from Jack Comer Mark Noonan and David Hurley goal bound shot which was deflected over the bar by Darragh Duffy. Crossmolina started the new half with Oisin Deane adding on 1 – 2 in side eight minutes. The visitors  kept plugging away with points from David Hurley  and Jack Comer two each and one from Jake Mullin before David Hurley grabbed an opportunist Goal after Darragh Duffy was disposed 50m from his goal Jack Comer Sean Halleran tacked on points before Kobe McDonald and  David Lally  traded points in injury time to leave three points separating the sides after a very fast open game in which both sides registered more scores playing against a strong northeast breeze than with it.
