A medical doctor and a community leader. Dr Loftus was a player, a referee and heavily involved in Crossmolina Deel Rovers. In 1985 Dr. Loftus was elected to the highest office as President of the G.A.A. where he served with distinction until 1988. Dr Loftus was a member of the Mayo senior football team what won the All Ireland in 1951. He won Junior All Irelands in 1950 and 1957, and three Sigerson Cup medals in 1948, 1950 and 1954. Dr Loftus refereed the All Ireland finals of 1965 and 1968.

At club level, James won 6 Mayo Senior Championship medals in 1995, 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2005 as well as 3 Connacht Championship medals in 1999, 2000 and 2002. James was part of the victorious team that won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in 2001. Playing for Mayo Seniors, James won a National League medal in 2001 and was honored with two All Stars in 1996 and 2004. James spent a period of 3 years working as a selector with James Horan managing the Mayo Senior Football team.

Winner of an All Star in 2004, Ciaran represented his county at Senior level and also represented Ireland in the International Rules series in 2005. Winner of six Mayo Championships, three Connacht titles and an All Ireland Club medal with Crossmolina Deel Rovers. Ciaran has been involved in many aspects behind the scenes including coaching Mayo’s football academy from 2019 to 2022 and as a coach / selector with James Horan.

Mayo Senior Footballer, and most capped Crossmolina first team appearances (103) in Club Championship, also one of the finest attacking halfbacks in Mayo football. Winner of the People’s Choice Player of the Year Mayo 2006.

John won a Hogan cup medal with Moate’s Carmelite College in 1980 as well as two Sigerson Cups in the 1980s with UCG. John played with both the U21 and Seniors for Mayo until injury saw him hang up his boots. John switched his focus to the sidelines, managing Clare, Mayo, Fermanagh, Roscommon and Offaly before returning home to aid his native club, Crossmolina Deel Rovers to All Ireland Glory in 2024. John remains with the club setup today.

Seamus was a member of the Mayo teams which reached the All-Ireland Minor Finals of 1961/62. He also represented the county at U21, Junior & Senior Level as well as playing Senior with Galway

Sean is an All-Ireland Medal holder (Offaly) and All Star. He was also a member of the Mayo team that won Connacht in 1985.

Stephen Rochford

Part of the 2001 All Ireland Senior Club team, Stephen played at Junior, U21 and Senior with Mayo. Stephen began his coaching career with the Mayo Minors as a selector for two years, he coached the Mayo U21 team to an All Ireland B title. Stephen was an All Ireland winning club manager with Corofin in 2015. Stephen has managed the Mayo Senior teams in the glory years from 2015 to 2018. Since then he has been involved in coaching with numerous counties.

Michael Moyles V Swinford

Micheal won the Sigerson cup with Sligo IT in 2004 and was a member of the 2001 All Ireland winning team. Playing with both Crossmolina Deel Rovers and Mayo at numerous levels, before moving to a career in coaching and management. Micheal managed the Mayo LGFA in 2021 to 2023.

Liam Moffatt

Liam has played for Mayo in Senior and U21. Liam was part of the All Ireland 2001 Senior Club winning team and also won the Sigerson cup in 2006. Liam was elected chairman of the Mayo GAA County board in 2019 where he served until 2021.

Damien Mulligan

Winning an All Ireland Medal with Crossmolina Deel Rovers, Damien also enjoyed playing at numerous levels with Mayo. Damien managerial experience includes managing Belmullet to Intermediate Club honors in Mayo in 2018 and being a selector with Mayo GAA. Damien is currently manager of St Brigid’s in Roscommon.

John Cosgrove CDR Referee

Played Intermediate for Crossmolina Deel Rovers in the late 60’s. Represented the club in North Mayo at County Level and on the National Referee’s panels for many years at all levels. In 1983 received Club Man of the Year. Heavily involved with Bord Na Nog and coaching of the pupils in Crossmolina N.S With many of the club’s successful footballer over the past 25 years came through the school. Received in 1987 Mayo and Connacht Clubman of the Year. Assistant Pro 1988, 1989 1990 and Pro 1991. In 1998 Crossmolina senior question time team of Brian Conway John McLoughlin and John Cosgrove won the County title for the 7th time in Garrymore. Received the 1992 Western People Community Award. His History of the Crossmolina Deel Rovers in 1984 was a wonderful publication with so much History of the club which otherwise would be lost if it was not recorded and in 2012 part two of the history The Pinnacle Was published with every event detailed in full.

PJ Loftus Snr

Won 3 North Mayo junior medals 1961, 1962, and 1975 2 county Junior Medals 1962 and 1975. 1 County Senior 1968 with North Mayo. Appeared 71 times for Mayo between 1961 and 1971. Captained Mayo in 1968, winning 2 Connacht senior medals with Mayo in 1967 and 1969, 1 National League Medal in 1970, 2 Railway cup medals with Connacht 1967, 1969, Gael Linn medals, Grounds Tournament 1967, Wembley Tournament 1968, 1970 Played against first Australia to team that visited Ireland 1967 in Croke Park where he gave an Exhibition of High Fielding as he did in Wembley on the 2 occasions

Mick Herr

Came teaching to Crossmolina Vocational School September 1971. Won County Junior medal 1975, Intermediate Medal 1980, 3 masters Medals, Played for Mayo Masters, Secretary from 1978 to 1987. Mick has promoted Scor Na Nog, Senior Scor, and represented the Club in Quiz’s as well as having refereed all grades of Football and Hurling. Referee of the year 2017. Chairman of the North Mayo Board 2016 to 2020 and served as secretary 201 to 2016.
