Mayo GAA through the HSE Health and Wellbeing Initiative are delighted to work in partnership with the Western Region Drug and Alcohol Task Force and South West Mayo Development Company in the delivery of SAOR training for GAA Club Health and Wellbeing Officers in Co Mayo. Who should attend?
The main target of the training is GAA Health and Wellbeing Club Officers or other designated club members, coaches, etc. This training is user friendly and appropriate to everyone. You don’t need any previous training or qualifications to attend. SAOR training:
Will support you have an informal chat with someone around their alcohol use. Will look at alcohol consumption in Ireland and how it impacts on sports performance. Will upskill you to feel more comfortable and confident in approaching the topic of alcohol. Will help you develop transferable communication skills to use in other situations. Will help you signpost people to supports and services in the local community.
Course Duration: The 1 day training runs from 10am – 4pm with a coffee and lunch break in between. The training itself is interactive in a very informal and relaxed environment. You will receive a certificate of attendance and CPD credits if applicable. Dates: The 1 day training takes place on the following dates

Congratulations to Belmullet At the executive meeting of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club on Tuesday night congratulation was extended to Belmullet club on winning the county Intermediate Title after a lapse of 44 years and also to Manager Damien Mulligan and Physio David Walsh and Good Luck in the Connacht Championship. Best wishes were also extended to Joe Keane who has joined the Sligo coaching staff, Stephen Rochford with Donegal and Gerard O’Malley with Offaly On Mayo Basketball Team Good luck to James O’Boyle Com Hegarty and Paddy Walsh who are on the Mayo U19 Basketball team who are touring New York and Philadelphia this week

Mindspace Outreach Service in Ballina FRC Mindspace Mayo offers a support service to young people (15-25yrs) presenting with anything from common concerns (e.g. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to young people with emerging mental health difficulties such as mild depression and anxiety. The outreach service will run one day a week (Monday) and is based in the Ballina Family Resource Centre. All Star Nominated Congratulation to Rachel Kearns Carrowkeel who has been nominated for an all-Star award on the Ladys Gaelic Football Team for her performances with Mayo during the year.
