Naomh Padraic recorded a convincing 4 – 7 to 1 – 9 win over Crossmolina in Tiernans Park on Tuesday of Last Week Three goals from Ian McDonnell A Sean Loughney Penalty and another McDonnell effort gave the visitors the perfect start in the opening half Crossmolina fought back with a Dara Syron Goal from a penalty and points from James Maheady two Mickie Maloney and Ronan Loftus one each to leave the half time score 3 – 4 to 1 – 4 James Maheady tacked on another four points Kyle Gallagher one at the other end Stephen Jackson grabbed a couple and Sean Walsh one before Ian McDonnell scored a late goal to stretch his sides advantage seven points

Crossmolina whirl wind start with four goals in the opening quarter two from Kobe McDonald one a penalty and one each from Sean Og McGuinness and James O’Boyle Knockmore’s Dara Staunton Adam Langan and Barry Walsh replied with points in between Kobe McDonald and Adam Mills tacked on further points to leave the half time score 4 – 3 to 0 – 4. The third quarter was close affair with both sides scoring four points Adam Mills two James O’Boyle and Luke Malone one each Dara Staunton kicked three frees and Barry Walsh one. Further goals from James O’Boyle and Dylan Flynn and string of points from Adam Mills Billy Loftus Shane Lynn and Josh Moyles saw Crossmolina run out comfortable winners on the score board 6 – 11 to 0 – 9 but if the visitors were a bit more clinical in front of goal they missed a couple of good scoring chances but saying that Crossmolina defences was always putting pressure on the attacker and this resulted in the missed chances.

A slow start left the young Deelrovers struggling with Naomh Padraigs No 8 dominating throughout. 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters saw good and a much-improved performance all round with goals on counter attacks leaving the score line flattering the visitors.

Hosts St Muredachs playing in Sean Duffy Park raced into a three points lead thanks to Sam Murphy Kristin McNiece and Daniel Touhy before Crossmolina opened their scoring with a point from Diarmuid Walsh in the 19thminute, Niall Coggins tacked on another, a minute later Shane Tolan and Sam Murphy again raised white flags for St Muredachs. Just before the break Diarmuid Walsh reduced the lead with a point 0 – 5 to 0 – 3.
Crossmolina stormed back and were level after 40 minutes with two points from Diarmuid Walsh. Daniel Touhy pointed a free and Joanthan Murtagh tied the score with neat point. The games changing score came in the 16th minute when Diarmuid Walsh was tripped in the square and Jonathan Murtagh drove the resulting penalty to the net off the goalkeeper finger tips.
Daniel Touhy and Harry Regan reduced the lead with points each and Luke Rowland pointed from play, Killain Fergus pointed after the now customary water break. As the game entered the last five minutes Jason Crean powered his way past a few defenders to tie the score with a shot to the corner of the net past a helpless John Tolan. Two late points from Diarmuid Walsh secured the win for Crossmolina

Crossmolina carved out a comfortable 6 – 13 to 3 – 8 win over Ardnaree in North Mayo U12 Championship in Sean Duffy Park on Thursday last Dylan Flynn Luke Maloney James O’Boyle and Kobe McDonald were the goal scorers in the opening half Ardnaree’s score getters were Ben Doherty Nathan Roddy Matthew Quinn and Cian Connelly the latter three each scored goals in the third quarter to reduce the lead to ten points 6 – 7 to 3 – 6 That was as good as it got for the hosts and string of Points from Kobe McDonald Adam Mills Billy Loftus Joey Kean and Dylan Flynn kept the challengers at bay Ben Doherty and Nathan Quinn tacked on points each before the final whistle

We wish all our members and supporters well during this unnerving time. Our facilities are closed in line with Government and GAA guidelines. We will update you in line with best advice. We are liaising with local businesses to help with deliveries and would ask everyone to keep a close eye on those in our community that may need assistance at this time

As all festivals and events are cancelled for the foreseeable future, the Crossmolina Festival group are putting their idle time to good use and are now available for deliveries to those people in the Parish that are staying at home during the virus pandemic. If you would like any shopping, prescriptions etc delivered to your home, simply contact any of the local retailers, butchers or pharmacies, place your order, request delivery and the retailers will organise for members of the festival group to deliver your order that evening with urgent orders delivered during the day. The festival would like to thank all those that have volunteered, now is the time to stay at home as much as possible and when normality returns, Crossmolina festival will be ready to host the events we will all need to celebrate.
