U14 Girls Final
McHale/Rovers 4 – 10 Westport B 4 – 6
What a game of this U14 Girls C Football County final at Tiernans Park on Saturday week turned out to be from the throw in Westport attacked the hosts goal it took a wonderful save from Charlie Reilly to prevent the Westerns from raising a green flag this inspired McHale/Rovers to take the game to their opponents but in a couple of goalmouth scrambles they just could not score against a very strong defence. Larissa Kelly opened her sides account Chloe Chambers finished to the net after a pass from Christina McEvilly who minutes later tacked on 1 – 1 before another McEvilly assist to Chloe Chambers gave her side a eleven points advantage at the first water break 3 – 2 without reply. Whatever was in the water or said during the break certainly had effect Kayla Doherty who was double marked throughout pointed from the restart Rionagh McHale pointed and Maeve Cosgrove scored her sides goal all in the space of four minutes Chloe Chambers tacked on a point Christina McEvilly who roamed all over the park grabbed her second goal and added two points as well which Kayla Doherty replied with a point and Sarah Gough tacked on two to leave the half time score 4 – 5 to 1 – 5 The third quarter McHale/Rover out score Westport 2 – 2 to a point with goals from Kayla Doherty and Roisin Tolan and couple of Doherty points to a single Westport point from Chloe Chambers in the 44th minute which was their only score in the second half. McHale/Rovers management made a telling switch with bringing on of Alicia Brennan in goal taking off Ayla O’Malley and putting Charlie Reilly into midfield and her fitness and work rate when the outfield players were tiring after their efforts in getting back into a game that look lost. Charlie Reilly banged in a goal minute in final quarter to give her side the lead and Kayla Doherty Leah Hopkins and Sarah Gough tacked on points extend the McHale/Rovers lead to four points. In between those late score the North Mayo sides defence stood tall and some wonderful blocking and covering denied the Westport girls of getting scores as they tried so hard to find an opening. It was a wonderful advertisement for lady’s football played in the right spirt fast and furious at all times great scores, fielding and Defending by both sides

U16 Ladies County B Final.
McHale/Rovers 3 – 5 Kiltmagh 2 – 6
This was a cracking county 16 Lady’s B Final at Tiernans Park on Wednesday evening last played in ideal conditions humid and not a puff of a breeze. McHale/Rovers had much the better of the early exchanges but the visitors defence stood firm Sinead Walsh and Megan Sheridan grabbed points but when Kiltmagh gained the upper hand Lucy Brennan pounced for a goal and a point Caoimhe O’Malley grabbed the first of her three goals again Lucy Brennan raised the green flag to score her second goal Cara Hession tacked on a point. Sinead Walsh and Sarah Ruane exchanged points before the half time to leave the score 2 - 3 to 1 – 3. Sinead Walsh pointed for McHale/Rovers and Cara Hession kept the East Mayo girls score board ticking over with two points before Caoimhe O’Malley pounced for her second goal to leave her side trailing by a point 2 – 5 to 2 – 4 at the water break. Lucy Brennan extended the lead with a point and with both defences guarding their goals scores were hard to come by Kiltmagh came searching for the insurance score but they found the McHale/Rovers defence in uncompromising mood with several shots blocked this was the injection of energy which pushed them forward in search of the winning score and who better than Caoimhe O’Malley to on the end of a well worked move to waltz past a couple of defenders to score the winning goal to give her side the lead and to complete her hat-trick in the 56th minute. Team Captain Kelly Wilson scored a wonderful point from an cute angle to seal a very hard earned victory which could have gone either way the sides were so evenly matched
