Crossmolina minor team advanced to the North Mayo final with a one point win over Ballina at St Tiernan's Park last Friday week. Ballina were dominant in the opening 30 minuets Ryan Keane John Moylett Ryan Leonard Sean Regan scored a string of points from all angles and distances to lead at half time 0 - 10 to 0 - 3 with Gerard Haran and Keith Hopkins replying with points.

Crossmolina set about reducing this lead with three points from Gerard Haran and a classic Goal from Fionan Duffy after a great build up out of defence in the tenth minuet to leave just a point separating the sides. Gerard Haran gave the Deel-Siders a two points advantage with a goal after another piercing run through the visitors defences Sean Regan and Haran swopped points on two occasions in the next seven minuets Regan and Sub Chris Doherty tied the score in the 29th minuet. With it looking like a draw up popped Fionan Duffy to kick the winner from close to 45m and send the Crossmolina boys into the final after a great contest played in great sportsmanship throughout Crossmolina team and scorers
