Representing Ireland;
Jason Devaney has for many years represented the Republic of Ireland with distinction at Underage and Senior snooker events all over the world. He has been Irish champion at all levels of Junior Snooker. At one time Jason held the U/16, U/18 and U/21 titles at the same time. Last year he was selected to play for his country at the World Team and 6 Reds championships hosted by RIBSA in Carlow. He has at all times performed with distinction and has been an exemplerary ambassador for RIBSA and Ireland.
His crowning achievement came 3 years ago when as an 18 year old he won the Irish Senior title. This is the Holy Grail for amateur snooker players in Ireland and to win it at such a young age is an outstanding achievement. These achievements are nothing more than this talented and dedicated player deserves. He has dedicated many hours of practice and competition to achieve his goal of becoming a fulltime professional.
Jason uses the snooker facilities at Crossmolina Deelrovers Clubhouse for much of his practice sessions.
Jason has been selected to represent Ireland at the upcoming European U/21 Snooker Championships being held in Bucharest, Romania from 18 â 29 March 2014.
Best wishes are extended to Jason from all at Crossmolina Deelrovers.
On Mayo Minor Team
Keith Hopkins Eskeragh and Fionan Duffy Abbeytown played for Mayo Minor team that defeated Roscommon 1 â 14 to 1 â 11 in Elveryâs McHale Park on Wednesday night Keith scored one point and Fionan scored five points. This game was advertised to start at the unusual time of 9 â 30 at night but was five minutes late in starting! Was this a new record for a game starting at such a late hour in Mayo or Ireland?
Rachel Kearns on Connacht Team
