Crossmolina and Aghamore served up an entertaining hours football at St Tiernans Park on Monday of last week. The visitors lead at half time by five points 1 – 8 to 1 – 3, thanks to Liam Duffy, James Lyons, Kieran Harrisons work rate and scoring ability.  Fionan Duffy and Keith Hopkins were scorers in chief for Crossmolina with Kieran Haran having to make three great  saves which kept his side in the game. Crossmolina rallied and drew level by the 50^th minute thanks to  some great scores from Fionan Duffy and Keith Hopkins. In the end Aghamore stormed back and tacked on three points  after the Deel-Siders wasted good possession close to goal to run out deserving winners  3 – 12 to 2 – 12.

Missing a few regulars due to sickness, injury and birthday parties a depleted squad welcomed Castlebar to St Tiernans Park on Wed night last. Playing into a strong wind in the first half the McHale Rvs girls only managed to registrar one point from Chloe Leonard. Castlebar mentor Collette Touhy refed the match in the absence of a official ref, that makes two out of three games for no referee. The second half saw an improvement in the home team’s fortunes with Aoife Deane (1-00) Rosin Cronin (0-01) Linda Kelly (0-01) and Chloe Leonard (0-03) scoring for the home team. Next on the agenda is a trip to Ballintubber vs Carnacon on wed k.o 6.30, Hopefully there will be a full squad to pick from on the night and the U14 girls will finally register the first league points of the season.

Their was thrills a plenty in this North Mayo semi-final at James Stephens Park on Saturday week  between  Ardnaree and  Crossmolina  The winners raced into 1 – 3 to lead with a  Gerard Haran point the only  Shane McKinley and Haran again pointed a Mickie Loftus Goal tied the score after 12 minuets and Crossmolina boys went on to dominate the remainder of the half  Kieran Traynor grabbed a goal further points from Damien Syron Mickie Loftus Declan Keating Shane McKinley and a brace from Gerard Haran to leave the half time score 2 – 10 to 1 – 5 Ardnaree had the assistance of stiff breeze in their backs whittled down that lead and Crossmolina’s only reply was three points from Declan Keating Shane McKinley and Kieran Traynor.  The winners kicked a couple of late points to squeeze through by a point 3 – 11 to 2 – 13
