The defence stood firm, and assisted by some competent fielding by goalkeeper Christopher Walsh held Achil to two further points for the first half. At the other end Crossmolina through Edward Gough and Cian OBoyle, hit two points but also the side netting and several wides. Half time score Achill 1-04 Crossmolina 0-03. The second half was well contested and end to end football. Crossmolina closed the gap to one point with well taken points by Lorcan Loftus and Eoin McDonnell. While Achill hit a wide at the other end. On their next attack Achill were denied a near certain goal by a brave goalline save by goalkeeper Christopher Walsh.
