John Garrett from play and Ciaran McDonald from a 48m free. Charlestownâs first point came after 15 minutes from Niall Murphy which was quickly cancelled out by a Brian Benson point from play after good approach work by Ciaran McDonald, who also pointed a free in the 22nd minute. Charlestown finished the half with two points from Colm Maye a free and Sean Leneghan a fisted effort to leave the half time score 0 â 8 to 0 â 3. Charlestown had two points in the opening five minutes of the second half from Niall Murphy. Brian Benson replied with a point from play. Aidan Higgins drove over a point from 20m, knifing his way past a couple of defenders. A Pat Leneghan shot for goal was brilliantly deflected over the bar by Jonathan OâBoyle. McHale Rovers progressed to the next round of the U14 B championship with a comfortable win over a depleted Kilmoremoy B on Wed evening last. Caoimhe Walsh opened the scoring with a goal and this was quickly followed up with another goal from Niamh Maughen, further first half scores from Emily Murray ( 1-01 ) and points from Megan Joyce, Linda Kelly and Lisa Lavelle left the halftime scoreboard 3-04 to 0-00. The second half saw the introduction of all the substitutes and scores from Grace Timlin, Caoimhe Walsh and Aoife Deane. Captain on the night Shauna McLoughlin lead by example from half back and was well assisted by Meadbh Walsh.
