Peadar Gardiner fisted to the net in the 8th minute after a slick pass from Brian Benson. The home side were going well with points from Ciaran McDonald, free, Michael Gallagher from play, and two from Martin McAndrew either side of a Peadar Gardiner effort. Breaffy pulled back two points in the last few minutes of the half from Tommy Reilly and Liam Irwin to leave the score 1 â 5 to 0 â 3 at the break. Breaffy had a fair share of the possession but poor shot selection and eight wideâs to three for the home side. This was all put right in opening five minuets after the break with a point from Peter Dravins, and a goal from live wire Gareth Dunne, followed by a point from Tommy Reilly to leave the sides all square. Ciaran McDonald and Liam Irwin exchanged points, then further points from Alan Durcan, Rory Martyn and Durcan pushed Breaffy further ahead. Kevin Mulherm and Martin McAndrew replied with points each from play for Crossmolina. In a frantic last ten minutes Alan Durcan and Tommy Reilly stretched Breaffys advantage with points each. The Deel-siders had the better of the exchanges in the first half and lead at the break by 1 â 5 to 0 â 6. The goal coming from Dean Loftus after good approach work by Tommy Walsh in the 20th minute, Dean was out of luck minutes later when his goal bound shot came back off the angle of the crossbar. Burrishoole had much better of the exchanges after break and the sides were level in the 35th minute. The sides were level on two occasions in the third quarter with Nigel Caden and Niall Timoney getting on the score sheet. The crucial score came in the 23rd minute from Jack Hanley of Burrishoole, the goal gave winners a four points advantage. Wing back Colm Guilfoyle came up to point from play minutes later. The Burrishoole goalkeeper was called upon to make smart save from Tommy Walsh. Gary Hopkins pointed from a 20m free on the stroke of full time to leave the final score 1 â 12 to 1 â 8. Crossmolina and Louisburgh served up an exciting 80 minutes of football during this U16 Championship 2 Semi final fixture at St Tiernans Park on Tuesday of last week. Played in showers of rain for the most part Tommy Walsh and Ronan Lavelle gave the home side a two points advantage after six minutes. This was wiped out two minutes later when Edward Ball booted the ball to the net after a goal mouth scramble. Jordan Flynn pointed a fee in the 9th minute to leave the sides all square. Sean Keane pointed for the West Mayo side after 14 minutes as scores were hard to come by with both defences on top only two more points were scored in the remaining 16 minutes. A Ronan Lavelle free and Edward Ball point from play to leave the half time score 1 â 2 to 0 â 4 in favour of Louisburgh. If scores were hard earned in the opening half, Louisburgh started at lightning pace on the change of ends and had two goals scored before some of the Deel-Siders had taken up their positions, one by Edward Ball and one from Sean Keane. The visitors had an opportunity to go further ahead in the 10th minute when they were awarded a penalty. Fionn MacDonnacha drove the chance wide. Crossmolina replied through Darren Gill from play and Ronan Lavelle from a free. Edward Ball from a free replied with a point from a free and Dylan Pender rowed in the one from play for Louisburgh. With Jordan Flynn and Conor Rowland getting a firm grip at mid-field, Gary Hopkins scored from the penalty spot after he was up ended in the square in the 52nd minute, and two more points from Hopkins frees in the next four minutes left Crossmolina closer. Ronan Lavelle pointed from play after taking a pass from Jordan Flynn. Gary Hopkins sent the game to extra time when he pointed a free after Tommy Walsh was fouled. Indiscipline cost the Louisburg team this game, Edward Ball was black carded, Joseph Dawson saw red in normal time and it was at this stage Crossmolina came right back into game. In extra time there was only one team in it going two points up in the first period from Jordan Flynn and a Gary Lynn free without reply, after the break Jordan Flynn, Darren Gill and Niall Maughan increased the Crossmolina advantage to leave the final score 1 â 15 to 3 â 4. Shane Loftus opened the Lahardane account in the 3rd minute from play Nigel Caden tied the score straight away from a 30m. Shane Loftus combined with Mark Noone to split open the Deel-Siders defence with a lightning run through the heart of defence to crack the ball to the net Nigel Caden replied with a point from a free Tony Devers added a point for Lahardane. The same player was wide from a penalty when stubbed his boot in the ground after Mark Noone was taken down. Kevin McHugh was up in the attack to score the losers only point from play. Three points from Nigel Caden from frees pushed his side into a one point advantage before Tony Devers tied the score from a free 1 â 3 to 0 â 6 at half time.
