Lotto Results

There was no winner of the Crossmolina GAA Club lotto jackpot on Saturday night 18th of October. The numbers drawn were 3, 18, 23, 29. There was one match 3 numbers, Breda Gallagher, Dooleeg, and she wins €150. Next weeks’ jackpot is €4,150. The draw was held in Reillys' Bar. Many thanks for all your support.

In a low scoring first half due to both teams playing a defensive game plan scores were hard to come by, Declan Keating opend the scoring in the 5^th minute, Alan Plunkett tied the score on 10 minutes, Damien Coleman and Fionan Duffy exchanged points on the quarter hour. Padraic O’Connor tacked on two points from frees and Declan Keating pulled one back just before the break to leave Ballintubber 0 – 4 to 0 – 3 at half time.

Declan Keating tied the score in 33 minute. The crucial score came just minutes later when a stray pass was picked up by Alan Dillon who put Stephen Brodrick through for the only goal of the game. Further points by Brian Murphy and Padraic O’Connor put the winners into a five points advantage after nine minutes. Fionan Duffy pointed two frees then Damien Coleman and Fionan Duffy traded points in the 48^th minute then Ruaidhri O’Connor pointed from play and Brian Murphy pointed from play. The visitors kept trying and were rewarded with two late points from Fionan Duffy frees to leave Ballintubber still top of the table.

Crossmolina got their North Mayo Championship campaign off to a winning start with a 4 – 9 to 2 – 7 win away to Ballina Stephenites. The visitors got off to a great start with goals from Keith Hopkins and Gerard Caden in the opening 10 minutes while playing against a stiff breeze. With Ballina’s Martin Murray gaining the upper hand at mid-field with some great fielding. A goal from a penalty by Aidan Kelly brought his side right back despite a couple of points from Thomas McNulty, Gerard Caden and Joe Keane the sides finished level 2 – 4 to 1 – 7 at half time.

Thomas McNulty pointed after 8 minutes but this was quickly erased when O’Hora cracked home a goal from close range. Mid way through the half Mickie Loftus scored a great individual goal to give his side the lead and the platform to go on and dominate the remaining last quarter with another goal from Gerard Caden who was on hand to fist the ball to the net after it came back off the crossbar, further points from Thomas McNulty, Keith Hopkins and Joe Keane ensured the Deel-Siders a deserving win in the end.

“Go Games” and U/12 Mini Leagues 2014 A review is currently under way to review our "Go Games" at U/8, U/10 and U/12 mini leagues organized in 2014.

Please submit any observations you may have to Enda Lavelle or Michael Hegarty so they can be returned to County Board by Wednesday 5th November 2014 This will help Mayo GAA with their review and any suggestion you may have as a club for Go Games and mini leagues in 2015.
