Monsignor Paddy Fox RIP The death occurred on Saturday 27th December at Mayo General Hospital of Monsignor Paddy (Patrick) Fox 14 Amana Estate Ballina formerly of Church St Crossmolina and San Diego Calfornia. His remains reposed at his nephew Karl and Josephine Fox Knockglass until Tuesday evening with removal to Hineys Funeral Home with removal to St Tiernans Church with burial on Wednesday in Crossmolina Cemetery after concelebrated mass by Fr Francis Judge P.P, Bishop John Fleming and Priests of the Dioceseâs. Fr Paddy was pre-deceased by his brothers Cormac and Tony, sister Maureen is survived by his brother Frank Church St, sister Sally, sisters â in â law, nephews, nieces, relatives, extended family and many friends at home and in San Diego Fr Paddy was born in Crossmolina in 1926. He was educated at Crossmolina N.S St Muredachs College Ballina and St Peters College Wexford, and was ordained on 8th June 1952 by Bishop John Staunton for the Parish of San Diego California. Where served for fifty years until his retirement in 2002. He came to live in Amana Estate in Ballina. Fr Paddy was a keen sportsman played with the Deel-Rovers in the Mid40s at minor, winning a Junior county Medal in 1947 with the team and also played Senior and would have played much more were it not for the restriction on Clerical Students in those days. In1962 while on holidays he helped train the Junior Team that won that years County Title. Fr Paddy was a regular spectator at all Crossmolina and Mayo matches nothing gave him greater pleasure than seeing Crossmolina win the All-Ireland Club title 2001 and all the success the Club had over the years. Fr Paddy will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of his company as a mark of respect the club formed a guard of honour from St Tiernans Park on his removal to the Church. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
