Crossmolina and Erris St Pats finished all square 3 – 8 to 4 – 5 in the U14 County league tie at St Tiernans Park on Thursday evening. The St Pats side were four points up at the half time break 2 – 3 to 1 – 2.
In a close and exciting second half a draw was a fair result.

Minor League Crossmolina grabbed a draw with a late scoring spree of six points in the last ten minutes in Breaffy. Played in ideal conditions the hosts lead at half time 1 – 8 to 1 – 6. The sides were evenly matched throughout first half, Dean Loftus pounced on a loose ball to bang it to the net in the 16th minute. Conor Carter cancelled this score out six minutes later and points from Stephen McDermott and Conor Carter gave Breaffy a two points advantage the break .
Crossmolina dominated most of the second half but poor shooting a tendency of going for goals denied them many scores. Dean Loftus grabbed his second goal three minutes into the half, in the next twenty minutes with all the possession the Deel-Siders had not raised a flag. On the few occasions Breaffy did attack they scored two goals first Stephen McDermott and then Conor Carter after Stephen McDermott’s penalty was brilliantly saved by Kieran Haran but the rebound fell to Carter who coolly drilled into the net. Jordan Flynn kick started Crossmolinas’ revival with a long range point, Gary Hopkins and Tommy Walsh two each and one from Nigel Caden to tie the score at 2 – 12 to 3 – 9 in a fast open game.
