Crossmolina U16 team suffered agonising one point defeat against Naomh Padraig in St Tiernans Park on Tuesday of last week in the county League The home side were in arrears for most of the game apart from the opening eight minuets when Niall Maughan and Darren Gill shot points. Crossmolina dominated the first half of this Division 1 League tie at Tiernans Park on Sunday after a night of heavy showers of rain and one just before half time which left under foot conditions slippery and made scoring difficult with both sides guilty of some bad wides.
Crossmolina lead at half time by five points 0 – 8 to 0 – 3 thanks some excellent points from Cathal Carolan, Fionan Duffy, Sean Kelly, Kevin Mulhern and Conor Loftus. Just after the break Conor Loftus pointed. A goal from kiltane sub Ryan Calvey reduced the lead to three points but further points from Fionan Duffy and Conor Loftus and Brian Benson kept the table toppers a safe distance in front as Mikie Sweeney and Jason Healy grabbed a two points each to leave the final score 0 – 15 to 1 – 7
