Treanlaur Catering Mayo G.A.A. Senior Football Championship - Group 3 Sat, 27 Jun, Venue: Ray Prendergast Memorial Park, Ballintubber 2-11 Crossmolina Deel Rovers 0-7 Seniors Bow Out Crossmolinaâs interest in this years Treanlaur Catering Championship ended with heavy defeat. In the second half after a great 40 minutes containing a very good Ballintubber side who have been at the top pecking order of Mayo football a number of years. Crossmolina lead at the break by a point after playing with the aid of the breeze 0 â 6 to 0 â 5, points from Fionan Duffy, Brian Benson, Conor Loftus, Thomas Cafferty, Gabriel Walsh and Chris Myles. Ballintubber scorers were Padraic OâConnor three points from frees, Alan Plunkett, Jason Gibbons points each. Alan Plunkett was the tormenter in chief with his first goal in the 41minutes giving his side the platform to drive on, his second goal seven minutes later was the final nail in the visitors coffin. Plunkett tacked on three more points with Damien Coleman, Jason Gibbons and Gary Dillon grabbing points each and Conor Loftus pointed Crossmolinaâs only score of the second half to leave the final score Ballintubber 2 â 11 Crossmolina 0 â 7.
Minuets silence was observed for the former Crossmolian Player Padraic McDermott Rossis Point Co Sligo and formerly of Shranacolly Keenagh who died in Sligo during the week. Crossmolina played with the breeze, Edward Gough and Adam Langan flashed over two points each before Jack Laurence struck two goals in a couple of minutes. Justin Judge grabbed a goal and a point. Darragh Kelly reduced the lead with a goal, Robert Murphy, Daniel Howley and Thady Connor tacked on points each with Conor Caden rowing in with a brace to the leave the half time score 4 â 5 to 1 â 9. Bonniconlon dominated the opening quarter after the break. Daniel Howely and Adam Langan landed points to start a revival which resulted in a three goal burst, first Conor Caden rattled the net and Edward Gough grabbed two as the game entered the last few minutes, and after hitting a few bad wides before Jack Laurence grabbed a vital point for Bonniconlon to secure a two points win 5 â 10 to 4 â 11. North Mayo National Schools B Final Wed, 24 Jun, Venue: Ardagh (Round:Final), Naomh Padraig V Crossmolina Deel Rovers 19:00, Ref: Declan OBoyle National Schools Final Crossmolina got off to a great start in the North Mayo National Schools B Final against Naomh Padraig at a sunny Ardagh on Wednesday evening last with two goals from Niall Coggins and James Gill sandwiched in between was a James Maheady point all in side six minuets Ronan Loftus shot for a point deceived Conor Howley in a crowed goalmouth as it dropped just under the bar into the net Diarmuid Walsh and Stephen Doyle exchanged points before Cian Donnelly grabbed his sides second goal and on the stroke of half time James Gill gave his side a two points advantage with a goal to leave the half time score 3 â 1 to 2 â 2 Jonathan Murtagh extended Crossmolina lead when fisted the ball to the net James Maheady F McDermott and Cian Donnelly pointed for Naomh Padraig. Killian Fergus pointed a free in the eleventh minuet which was his last score as the winners defence dealt with a couple of dangerous attacks with stout defending.
