Press Release www.mayogaa.com
Mayo GAA would like to inform all clubs, supporters and the public in general that all adult GAA matches scheduled in the county this weekend have been cancelled due to Storm Amy. Mayo GAA CCC will meet over the weekend to reschedule the games for a later date.
Mayo GAA Chairperson Seamus Tuohy said the decision was made in the interest of public safety. “We have decided to cancel all our adult fixtures this weekend due to the adverse weather warnings in place. Player and supporter safety is of paramount importance to Mayo GAA and following consultations with all the relevant authorities we have decided to cancel all adult fixtures. We also consulted with the clubs hosting the Mayo GAA championship semi-finals this weekend and they informed us their pitches were unplayable at present,” concluded Seamus Tuohy.
Mayo GAA was scheduled to host the Connacht Gold Senior Football semi-finals, the Egan Jewellers Intermediate Football semi-finals and the Treanlaur Catering Junior Football semi-finals this weekend.

Hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Micheál’s last visit — welcome back! It was an absolute privilege to welcome Micheál Ó Domhnaill – a true gentleman – along with the @SportTG4 camera and backroom crew, as they broadcast live from the home of the Deel Rovers. Their professionalism in both setup and execution was second to none. Wishing them safe travels home.
