Sean and Helen Keane Carrowcloughy Won the top prize of €10,000 in the Mayo GAA Club Development draw which took place in Cill Chomain GAA Club on Saturday week. P. Castlebar Mitchels had a comfortable win over Crossmolina in the County U13 Plate Semi-Final at Josie Munnelly park on Thursday evening last two first half goals from Seamus Maughan laid the foundation for the host win. Alex Kenny grabbed a goal for Crossmolina and Farnan Munnelly and Dylan Lavelle added a point each. (Round: Round 5), Claremorris 1-19 Crossmolina Deel Rovers 4-11

Crossmolina got off to the perfect start in this County U15 Championship tie in Claremorris on Tuesday last a goals in fifth minuet  from Dylan Flynn  another in the 12minuet from Oisin Deane and a third from Luke Maloney  before the half time break gave the visitors a 3 – 7 to 0 – 11 Half time lead despite some wonderful point scoring from Mark Noone and Hurley. Claremorris came after the break and scored a string of points to wipe out the lead  after fifteen minuets it took a couple of wonderful saves from Georgie Gordetskyy  to keep the Deel-Siders  in the game and with minuets ticking away Aaron Keane reduced the Claremorris lead with a point down to two and in a fine move that saw Esmond Maughan clearance out of defence to Kobe McDonald who in turn passed to Josh Moyles gave it to Oisin Deane who took the pass at speed and was tumbled in the square and Referee  Kevin Connelly pointed to the spot and Kobe McDonald stepped up blast the ball to the net with last kick off the game after very entertaining game of fast open football

Crossmolina dominated the opening 30 minutes of this County U17 County Championship tie at St Tiernans Park on Thursday evening last a string of points from James Maheady Jack Naughton and goal and a point from Adam Mills. 

The Erris boys grabbed a goal and point from Josh Carey in the last few minutes of the half to trail by 1 – 8 to 1 – 1 at the break. Two quick points from Charlie Ginnelly and James Armstrong were wiped out by like scores from Adam Mills James Maheady Jack Naughton and Nathan Lynch. 

Erris St Pats kept plugging away with four points from Josh Carey three from Ben Donoghue and one from Daniel McDonagh to leave just a point separating the sides entering the last ten minutes Crossmolina found their shooting boots and James Maheady drove over three  points and Jack Naughton and Adam Mills one each to secure a hard fought win in a game that the Deel-Siders for long spells

Crossmolina overcame a stiff test from Visitors Carras in this County U15 Championship Tiernans Park on Tuesday last two first half goals from Kobe McDonald and one from Joey Keane gave the host the plat form to dominate the first half. Carras Jack Nevin grabbed an opportunist goal and rowed in with a couple points as did Alex Jennings Adam Gallagher to leave the half time score 3 – 7 to 1 – 6 Further points from Dylan Flynn Ethan Reilly and Luke Williams kept the score board ticking over for the hosts after the break before two goals from Kobe McDonald put the gloss on the score board Cathal Tierney raised a green flag for the  Carras boys and Jack Nevin tacked on a point after a very entertaining with great scores from both sides

Young Deel Rovers on Mayo Development squads;

Last weekend (13^th / 14^th August 2022) was a busy one for the young Deel Rovers who represented Mayo on development squads. 

First up, Ethan Reilly and George Gordetskyy, who played with the U14 development squad in the Sean Purcell U14 tournament in the COE, they had good wins over Longford and Kildare.

Next up; Mayo U15 development squads, Dylan Flynn was with squad one, who defeated Tyrone in the final of the Brian McClernon Cup, Josh Moyles (Captain), Kobe McDonald, Sean Óg McGuinness, Óisín Deane and Darragh Duffy (injured) were part of Mayo squad two, who defeated Derry in Brian McClernon Trophy.

Finally; On the Mayo U16 development squad who lost out narrowly to Kerry in the Ted Webb final, we had Aaron Coggins representing the Deel Rovers.

Well done to all the lads, and their proud families and many friends who support them.

Aghamore had the greater share of the play in the first half of this U15 Championship tie in Aghamore on Tuesday last after rattling in a goal after three minutes from David Delaney and quickly tacked on points from Derry Og Cox. Kobe McDonald  replied with a point in the 12^th minute for the visitors  further points from Derry Og Cox and Ian Murray extended the lead out to eight points  before a Kobe McDonald goal and two  points in the last six minutes of the half to leave the  score at the break 1 – 6 to 1 – 3. Oisin Deane and Derry Og Cox swopped points before Luke Williams and Simon Byrne exchanged goals and Derry Og Cox raised a third green Flag for the East Mayo boys before a six points scoring spree from the Deel-Siders Ethan Reilly Sean Heffernan Dylan Flynn Josh Moyles one each and two from Joey Keane to tie the score. After game both sides missed many scoring chances and Crossmolina’s goalkeeper Gorgie Gordetskyy was called on to make at least three goal bound saves over the hour.

Balla were in control from the start of this county U17 Championship with two goals inside the opening seven minutes from Oisin Cronin and Liam Glynn they followed this up this with a string of points from Conor Nolan Oisin Cronin Luke Flaherty and James Nolan Crossmolina’s Jack Naughton replied with three points. The visitors had the assistance of the breeze in the second half but could only muster four points from Billy Loftus Diarmaid Fox James O’Boyle and James Maheady. Balla’s Oisin Cronin tacked on two points and Liam Glynn one to run out comfortable winners.

Castlebar Mitchels were in command from the start of this County U19 County Semi-final at Tiernans Park on Tuesday of last week With Eoin Hughes scoring 1 – 4 of the Halftime score of 1 – 7 Sam Morohan Jack Daly and Ben McHale getting points each Eoin Murphy and Diarmaid Walsh replying with points each for the home side. The visitors continued their scoring rate but Crossmolina kept plugging away with two goals from Jack Naughton and one from a penalty from Dara Syron gave the score board a healthier look.

Crossmolina advanced to the Semi-final of the Mayo U19 Championship with a eight points win over Moy Davitts at a wet Tiernans Park on Tuesday last after two very heavy showers. Two first half goals from Diarmaid Coggins in the 5^th minute and a Eoin Murphy one late in the half saw the host trail by a point 2 – 3 to 1 – 7 at the break the Davitts points coming from the Ronan and Jamie Clarke Colm McHale Jack Dunleavy and goal from Adam Boukioud. Further goals from Diarmaid and Niall Coggins after the break laid the foundation for this win with Diarmaid Walsh James Maheady Luke Rowland raising white flags. Crossmolina are at home this Tuesday evening to Castlebar in the County Semi-Final.

After a bright opening quarter in Irishtown on Sunday week Crossmolina raced into a eleven points lead thanks two goals from Aaron Garrett in this County U17 League Davits dominated the second quarter to narrow the leaded down to four points at the break 2 – 7 to 0 – 9 with a string of points from Fionn McLoughlin Ciaran Treacy Dylan Gallagher. A three-goal barrage in the second half from subs Aaron Conneely-Basham one in the thirty ninth minute and two from Brian Corless in the 50^th and 56^th minutes put the game out of Crossmolina reach despite a goal and a point from Jack Naughton and a Kyle Gallagher points.

Crossmolina recovered from Two first half goals from Joe Farry and Conor Kananagh in the 16^th and 26^th minutes with points from Joey Keane  Luke Williams Liam Clancy Luke Maloney and two from Kobe McDoanld  in between Joe  Farry tacked on three points and  Patrick Garvey one to leave the half time score 2 – 4 to 0 – 6 after the hosts missed some great scoring chances. Three goals in the opening ten minutes after the break from Dylan Flynn Oisin Deane and Josh Moyles in between Joe Farry pulled a goal back Oisin Dean waltzed through a couple defenders and Kobe McDonald his trade mark goal from a distance and Joe Farry bagged his third goal and ended up with 3 – 6 to his name. Crossmolina clawed their way back after a poor start conceding three goal with Niall McDonald the tormenter in chief. Danny McDonald Killian Fergus Gerard Haran David Howley and Adam Langan replied with points and before half time Gerard Haran scored a goal to leave the score at the break   3 – 5 to 1 – 5 advantage to the hosts.  The introduction of Luke Rowland who scored five points and goals from Gerard Haran Adam Langan had Crossmolina a point up entering the final minutes until Michael Lynott got the all-important goal for Kilfine to steal it at the death after entertaining game despite the heavy shower in the first half

The sider were level at the break 2 – 7 to 1 – 10  James Maheady scored a cracking goal and was later taken down in the square which Dara Syron rifled the penalty  to the net Knockmore’s goal came from the boot of Kyle Neary who added a second goal five minutes into the second half Dylan Coleman raised a green flag later in the half  in between Diarmaid Walsh with three points and one from Diarmuid Coggins kept the score board ticking over with Eoin Murphy bagging a goal for the visitors late on who struggled to gain the upper hand after a bright opening.  Crossmolina

Crossmolina crashed out of the Mayo U13 county League simi-final in Parke on Thursday last against the hosts with a late goal from Eoghan Kenny in injury time. Crossmolina lead at the first quarter by 2 – 1 to 0 – 4 with goals from Aaron Donnellan and Farnan Munnelly. Parke/ K/C came back with six points from Gary Bulger two and one each from Fiachra Donaldson Eoghan Kenny Dylan Moran and Ronan Quinn.  Eanna O’Boyle tied the score with a goal after a great team goal involving a number of players Crossmolina struck a purple patch in the third quarter scoring 1 – 3 points from Eanna O’Boyle Dylan Lavelle Peadar Fergus and a goal from Conor Howley. Luke Hurst Dylan Moran and John Mulroy reduced the lead to three with points each. Parke/K/C had the better of the final quarter Gary Bulger pointed  and Eoghan Kenny tacked on two to tie the score  Peadar Fergus gave his side the lead from a free as the clock ticked down before Kenny’s late winner. Crossmolina crashed out of the Mayo U13 county League simi-final in Parke on Thursday last against the hosts with a late goal from Eoghan Kenny in injury time. Crossmolina lead at the first quarter by 2 – 1 to 0 – 4 with goals from Aaron Donnellan and Farnan Munnelly. Parke/ K/C came back with six points from Gary Bulger two and one each from Fiachra Donaldson Eoghan Kenny Dylan Moran and Ronan Quinn.  Eanna O’Boyle tied the score with a goal after a great team goal involving a number of players Crossmolina struck a purple patch in the third quarter scoring 1 – 3 points from Eanna O’Boyle Dylan Lavelle Peadar Fergus and a goal from Conor Howley. Luke Hurst Dylan Moran and John Mulroy reduced the lead to three with points each. Parke/K/C had the better of the final quarter Gary Bulger pointed  and Eoghan Kenny tacked on two to tie the score  Peadar Fergus gave his side the lead from a free as the clock ticked down before Kenny’s late winner. After a well contested game of fast flowing football

Crossmolina overcame a game Ballina side in this county U15 B league tie in Tiernans park last week Crossmolina lead at the break by a point 2 – 6 to 2 -5 thanks to goals from Christian Sweeney and Luke Maloney. Girls Schools Final

Kilmurray National School put in a very brave performance in the Cumannn Na mBunscol Division 4 final against Irishtown  in Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence at Bekan on Tuesday last the day was dull with a slight breeze which assisted the Kilmurray Girls in the first half but it was the Irishtown girls who scored first a goal from Holly Roche which came back of the Upright Lucy McDermott grabbed a second after the Break. Kilmurray fought back with a point from Emily Mulligan and goal from Kaela Jordan in between Lauren Melvin and Jessica Ferrick tacked on points to leave the South Mayo Girls deserving winners 2 – 2 to 1 -1. Crossmolina were unlucky to lose out to Balla in this county Division 2A League tie in Balla on Sunday week.
