Crossmolina Deel Rovers 6-7 Ballina Stephenites 0-8

Crossmolina were convincing winners over Ballina over 6 – 7 to 0 – 7 in this north Mayo U14 A final played in ideal conditions in Knockmore on Tuesday of last week. The Stephenites started the better side and had a couple of chances of goals were it not for some stout defending and vigilant goalkeeper by Patrick O’Malley  who was on top of his game the score might be much different after Ben Thornton opened the scoring straight from the throw in the first two attacks for Crossmolina resulted in goals from Kobe McDonald penalty and fisted effort from Dylan Flynn from a McDonald Pass further goals from Adam Mills and Oisin Deane stretched the winners further ahead Jerome Nevin tacked on three points and Adam Mills and Oisin Deane  replied with points each to leave the half time score 4 – 2 to 0 – 4. After the break  Kobe McDonald and  James O’Boyle grabbed goals each  and Sean Fitzpatrick Replied with three points and Ben Nevin one.  Adam Mills Oisin Deane Esmond Maughan and Kobe McDonald  tacked on further points to leave the final score 6 – 7 to 0 -7

Crossmolina made a good recovery after conceding a goal in the first minuet when Sean Neary found the net. Crossmolina ran out comfortable winners in this North Mayo U16 Championship tie  with Naomh Padraic in Tiernan’s Park on Tuesday of last week after the sides went to the break level at five points each. Three second half goals from Adam Mills Oisin Deane and James O’Boyle saw the Deel-Siders win by seven points 3 – 9 to 0 – 11. Crossmolina now play Ballina in the final tonight Tuesday in Knockmore at 6 – 30.

Crossmolina enjoyed a three points advantage at the break 1 – 5 to 1 – 2 against Ardnaree in this Sweeney cup tie at Tiernans park the goal coming  from Conor Rowland  four points from Diarmaid Walsh and one from Dean Loftus Cathal Noone replied with 1 – 1 and John Egan a point. After the break Diarmaid Walsh and Dean Loftus kept the Deel-Siders score board ticking over with further points. Ardnaree’s  Cathal Noone Noelle Beattie John Egan and Cian Burke raised white flags to keep the large crowd entertained in a game of fast open football with Crossmolina holding  on for a one point win  1 – 10 to 1 – 9 win.

Crossmolina edged out Ballina by three points  in a high scoring North Mayo U16 Championship in James Stephen Park on Tuesday last Crossmolina lead at the break by a point 3 – 3 to 0 – 11 with two goals from Oisin Deane and one from Kobe McDonald. Two further goals from Kobe McDonald and one from Joey Keane during the second half kept the host at bay despite the best efforts  of Jerome Nevin who scored seven points and Sean Fitzpatrick who scored 1 – 6 and Crossmolina can thank  their goalie Patrick O’Malley who made a couple of fine saves through the game. Adult awards night, Saturday 5^th March 2022.

The annual awards for 2019, 2020 and 2021 were held on Saturday last the 5^th of March 2022 in Hineys Bar. Medals were presented to the following winning teams, 2019 U18s who won the North Mayo D Title, 2019 Juniors who won the North Mayo Winter Shield and North Mayo Junior B titles, and the 2021 U19s who won the Mayo U19C Championship.

 Player of the year awards were also presented by Club President Micheal Judge, they were as follows;

Save the date, Adult awards night, Saturday 5^th March 2022.

Saturday the 5^th of March 2022 in Hineys Bar, we will be holding our awards night. Come along and join us for a social evening as we catch up on awards from 2019, 2020 and 2021. Light refreshments from 9.30pm and presentations at 10pm. 

2020/2021 Bord na nÓg presentation night

The Bord na nÓg presentation night took place in the Sports Hall in the GAA grounds on Saturday 12^th February 2022. It was a welcome return from a hiatus in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. The night was well attended with over 200 medals presented to players.

The awards were broken up into 2 sections, 2020 and 2021 with a presentation in the interval from Peadar Flynn on Club Crossmolina.

The Chairman of the Bord na nÓg David Fox and Bord na nÓg secretary Claudette McLoughlin would like to take this opportunity to thank David Keane and Thomas McNulty for their help in organising the presentation night. Thank you to Jordan Flynn for kindly giving his time to present the medals. It was exciting for the underage players to meet Jordan who had come up through the same underage structure to culminate in playing for his County at Senior level. Thank you to Robert Padden for the sound. To Peadar Flynn for stepping in at the last minute to present Club Crossmolina. Thank you to the Managers and Coaches for all their hard work throughout the years. This was evident on the night with the volume of medals presented. Finally, thank you to the parents for continuing to support our club by bringing their children to and from training and matches. We look forward to a successful 2022.
